Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Devdutt Padikkal scored his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) century to help chase down 177 with more than three overs to go against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Dev Padikkal played an excellent knock, scoring 101 off fifty-two deliveries Fourth Karnataka batsman to attain a century in the IPL takes a bow, young man, maiden century in IPL for Gayle and young gun Padikkal on a constant day with Kohli on another end.
Rajasthan Royals crumbled under pressure in the opening overs and was reduced to 43/4. In middle overs somehow Shivam Dube’s 46 and Rahul Tewatia’s 40, the men in pink managed to post a total of 177/9 at the end of their 20 overs.
And Everyone loves the way Virat Kohli has just allowed him to take center stage, taking singles and putting him back on strike. Feel for Rajasthan Royals, they fought back nicely while batting, but RCB & their faithful fans deserve a great year this was the fastest century in the IPL by an uncapped player.
Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten with a good opening partnership played a crucial role in achieving this as RCB registered a victory by 10 wickets and 21 balls to spare. Skipper King Kohli also put on a show with a gutsy 72* Runs which was his first half-century of the season. And registered the highest opening partnership in the history of the Indian Premier League 2021.
The left-hander had a slow start to the tournament after missing his first game against Mumbai Indians just recovered from COVID-19. But he bounces back to form with his stunning display which saw him dominate the Rajasthan Royals bowlers.
